What is a no-claims bonus?

A No-Claims Bonus (NCB) was designed to reward policyholders in the UAE with great track records. As the name suggests, it is a bonus given to car insurance holders who haven't made any claims on their policy in the year of its duration. This bonus translates into a discount on the car insurance premium.

No-Claims Bonus holders are viewed as less risky investments. Due to their lack of claims, they are considered conscientious drivers, and hence their premium is lowered because they are less likely to get in an accident or sustain damage due to reckless negligence.

If you plan on switching insurance providers, you don't have to leave your NCB behind. You can easily have your NCB transferred to your new insurance provider. An NCB can give you favorable terms at your new provider and positively affect your insurance policy.

NCB is not a discretionary reward given by insurance providers. Policyholders with stellar records can demand the NCB. So, if you feel you should be awarded the NCB, talk to your insurance provider and file a request for one. It is truly worth the effort.
