Completing Your Eye Test in Ajman
Undergoing an eye test is the first step if you have to do anything related(opening a new driving license file, renewing license) to a driving license in Ajman.
1.Visit an Approved Optical Center Ajman: Check system compatibility first.
To get an Ajman eye test, your testing center must be linked to MOI(Ministry of Interior). Get there with your original Emirates ID.
If your driving license was issued in Dubai, explicitly request an RTA-linked eye test before starting the examination.
2. Undergo Vision Examination:10-minute assessment.
The optometrist will test your eyes for visual acuity, color detection, and field of vision.
If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring them along. Your license profile will be updated with a mandatory “Glasses Required” condition tag.
3.Digital File Upload:Instant sync to MOI or RTA.
Pay the standard fee (AED 100 – AED 140). The optician submits your scores directly to the system via your Emirates ID. You will receive an automated confirmation SMS.
4.Finalize Driving License Renewal:Via MOI UAE App.
Open the MOI UAE App (for Ajman files) or RTA App (for Dubai files), clear outstanding traffic fines, enter your home address for delivery, and pay the renewal fee online.
Renewing Your Ajman Driving License? Don’t Forget Car Insurance!
Under UAE federal law, you cannot renew your driving license or vehicle registration (Mulkiya) without a valid car insurance policy linked to your traffic file.
Before finalizing your renewal on the MOI app, make sure your car insurance policy is active and updated in the system.
If you are unsure how to check your policy status, read our guide on How to Check Car Insurance Policy Status Online in UAE.
