This 1600 hp mega machine doesn’t hold the world record of being the fastest, as it did the run in one direction only. It managed 304 mph when the French firm decided to unleash it at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessein test track.

Hennessey Venom F5

Top speed – 272 mph

Hennessey Venom F5 is the perfect blend of beauty and performance. The 6.6 litre twin-turbo lump puts out 1817 hp and 1617 Nm of torque, making it a lean mean machine. The engine is super powerful to go from 0 – 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The top speed that the vehicle attained is 272 mph.

SSC Tuatara

Top speed – 268 mph

The American SSC Tuatara comes close to Hennessey Venom F5 when listing the fastest cars in the world. SSC Tuatara managed to attain a top speed of 316 mph in October 2020 to become the world’s fastest car. But later the company admitted to having a GPS error that depicted the speed wrongly. Later when the tests were done, the top speed came out to be 268 mph.

Koenigsegg Agera R

Top speed – 260 mph

The Agera RS may be the fastest of its kind, but the Agera R isn’t far behind. The production time was from 2011 to 2014. It features the company’s legendary 5.0 litre V-8 engine that gives a massive 1124 hp and 885 pound-feet torque.  The Swedish firm used this car to set a handful of records for production cars in 2011 and made it to the list of top fastest cars in the world. 

McLaren Speedtail

Top speed – 250 mph

The McLaren Speedtail was introduced to the world in 2018 and is considered to be the successor of the iconic F1. It has a three-seat layout and reaches the top speed of 250 mph making it the company’s fastest vehicle. But the British firm has yet to release proof that McLaren Speedtail is capable of such speed. It combines a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 gasoline engine with an electric motor.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

Top speed – 250 mph

If you go by the looks, you might not think that the sleek and stylish Aston Martin Valkyrie can be among one of the fastest cars in the world. Mounted behind the driver is a powerful 6.5 litre hybrid V12 engine which gives 1160 hp and the top speed of 250 mph. It goes from 0 – 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. 

Pagani Huayra

Top speed – 238 mph

Last but certainly not the least in any way on the list of fastest cars in the world is Pagani Huayra. Its highlight is that it’s made up of carbon fibre to keep it lightweight yet sturdy. It has an AMG derived twin-turbo charged V12 engine that shells out 730 hp and 1000 Nm or torque. The top speed is 238 mph which gives other competitors a run for its money.
